Funny, when you stop accepting people’s mistreatment they get brand new and then say it’s YOU that’s brand new. We all have been in situations where we have had to be a “sucka” in order to survive and handle our responsibilities, an agreeable doormat accepting of any old treatment, some of us had to hide our true selves to stay safe. But we should know that there is no safety in this world, and that version of ourselves should be dead and gone.

We should strive to understand each other and show kindness to everyone, regardless of the situation. Accommodation and respect are important values that should be modeled for people in their formative years. We should be “all things to all people….of good will.” We should focus on teaching others the importance of kindness and respect, and modeling it ourselves.
