We’re living in a nightmare of our own apathy’s making, and it’s time for everyone to take their heads out of their asses. Democracy is under attack, fascism is on the rise, and 45’s anti-democratic rhetoric has created a full-blown crisis right in front of our eyes. Yet, instead of standing up, too many are still acting like life’s just one big party—ignoring reality, rights, and all that “boring” stuff that actually matters.

I’ve been calling this out for decades. Thirty years of warning friends, family, professors—hell, even writing to Black media and celebs—only to be brushed off like I was the crazy one. Since 2018, I’ve been screaming it louder, watching it all play out exactly as I said it would. Even my professors looked at me like I was nuts. And now, here we are. Shocked? Really? I told y’all this was coming.

But it wasn’t just 45 or his cronies. Oh no, I saw it in every corner of society. No court, not even the Supreme Court, defended my father—a WWII war hero. Nobody. As he lay dying, bleeding out from neglect, a nurse had the audacity to question me at his deathbed because, in her twisted mind, we didn’t “match” enough for her liking. I saw this coming in crystal-clear 8K seven years ago. Lawyers with no ethics protected every move of those who failed him—even the one who was supposed to be on my side.

And the worst part? OUR apathy. Nobody gave a damn. It wasn’t their problem, it wasn’t their anointed one dying, and they had parties to go to. Meanwhile, I was the “drag” for daring to talk about reality, rights, and the law. I was ignored for dead—brushed off because my warnings poked at their precious egos.

So now, here we are. 45 broke laws, insulted you to your face, and openly plotted to dismantle democracy. And still, people act shocked. If the lies about a stolen election, the attacks on truth itself, and the threats to punish imagined enemies didn’t convince you, then what will?

This isn’t about “I told you so.” It’s about accountability. The truth was always in plain sight. We’ve let hatred weigh more than love, egos stand taller than action, and distractions blind us to what matters most. If this isn’t a divine lesson, I don’t know what is.

I pray we learn it fast, before it’s too late. The time to act is now. Take the blinders off. Stop clutching your pearls. Wake up, people. The party’s over.

The Curious Dance of “Partnership”

Remember that kid who always wanted to be friends, but only if you showed them all your cool toys first? Yeah, that’s starting to feel like a lot of business interactions lately.

Here’s the scenario: I extend a hand, propose a partnership, “Let’s join forces!” I’ve got a network, a vision, and a genuine desire to collaborate. But the response? “We don’t have a program… but tell us everything about your reach and capabilities.”

Hold on, rewind. Isn’t a partnership a two-way street? You share, I share, we build something awesome together. Instead, it feels like a one-sided interrogation, leaving me wondering if I’ve just handed over my secret decoder ring to a competitor in disguise. ️‍♀️

Now, I get it. Business is competitive. It’s a jungle out there, and sometimes you gotta wear camouflage. But let’s be honest, playing “pretend-partners” just builds walls, not bridges. It saps the joy out of collaboration and turns the entrepreneurial spirit into a suspicious squint.

So, I’m raising a flag for a new kind of business dance. One where open doors meet open hands, where collaboration trumps competition, and where sharing isn’t a one-way ticket to vulnerability.

I’m still learning this waltz, this tango of trust in the business world. I used to wear my heart on my sleeve, sharing dreams with anyone who’d listen. But I’ve learned that not everyone wants to see you soar, not even within your own circle. It’s a tough pill, but it’s the price of playing the game, I guess. ️

So, to the “partners-in-name-only,” I say this: Let’s ditch the charade. If it’s a no, just say no. But if there’s a spark, a glimmer of genuine collaboration, let’s build something together, brick by brick, with open doors and open hearts.

Because in the end, isn’t that what business should be about? Building, not battling. Sharing, not sussing out. Maybe then, we can recapture a little of that lost joy, that entrepreneurial spirit that thrives on connection, not competition.

The world looks so very different from where I am right now. From my perspective. Web 3 has a lot to do with it. People wonder why I don’t do my art more, why I don’t write more, why I’m not acting. My mentor of many years told me, “Don’t let time get away from you, focus on your wriitng. You are a writer.” She couldn’t understand why I had to say, become a Forex and Crypto trader for a while, just as my friends and family didn’t understand why I had to become a long-term caregiver for a long time.

They said: “Can’t you just order your father Chinese food?” or “Wouldn’t your life be better without your father…” (Yes some “friend” actually said that)…and family, “Throw his stuff in the dumpster and put him in a nursing home.” These people are exactly the type of people who compelled me to take a different route in life. One that is more focused on the experience of life, my values, my beliefs, and taking the slow-road to success. I never really reacted when people told me these things, I was too busy. Both being a caregiver, but also learning, observing, and growing. Not just technically, but as a human being. Looking at nature, processing and healing my own traumas. I figured, the last thing the world needed was another asshole. So I took the slow path to success, with that in mind.

They don’t understand that I am writing, doing art and producing, albeit on a very low level. Bamboo grows beneath the surface of the soil for many years, and not until year seven or so does it grow where people can see it, then it becomes the fastest growing “tree” in nature. Not really a tree, but you get the metaphor. That’s the type of person I am…if a person tells me I can’t do something, that’s the thing I wanna do. I lay down roots and I get to work.

In this world there are millions of actors, writers and artists, but why is it for tech startups, for the decision-making positions, for media companies, those who craft the decisions that move culture, money, and environmental policy there are so few BIPOC owned companies? About 4-5% Black owned and as best I can tell even if you add women and minority owned the figure is still rather low. And within the Web 3 space, the numbers are likely non-existent.

And within the Web 3 space, we have a once in a generation opportunity to create true equity and a more egalitarian system. Yet, on a daily I am met with people who just want to turn it into a lifeless/soulless gated suburb. I say nothing, I make notes.

I don’t want to sit at any table I’m not wanted at, I will have my own table, and I’ll decide who is worthy to sit with me and my people. And here’s the twist, my people are the people with, what my Aunt Lee used to call, those with “the good heart”, irrespective of their race, color, class, sexual orientation, nationality or gender.
